Rishi Sowa’s Spiral Island
If making a carpet out of plastic bottles is not challenging enough for you, how about something bigger - Rishi Sowa, a British eco-pioneer, has decided to build an artificial floating island out of 250000 PET bottles. Although his creation and new home, located near Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, was destroyed by Hurricane Emily in 2005, Mr. Sowa has decided to use the experience he gained and is currently building another island. A Solar Heater with Beer Bottles
Finally, some brilliant lo-tech solution from China. “Ma Yanjun, a carpenter, of Qiqiao village, Shaanxi Province might not be a name known to many. But, what he has done is highly commendable. He has invented a solar water heater of its own kind. You can make it too, taking inspiration from him.
